What is a vinyl record?
Pressed records are mass-produced. In contrast, cut records are crafted from clear or black polycarbonate plastic and are individually cut one at a time. Each record is made in real-time, by Rich Flores, using a record cutting lathe equipped with a cutting stylus that carves grooves directly into the material. This process allows for small runs and even single copies, making them ideal for artists, DJs, and audiophiles who need custom vinyl without the high minimums of traditional pressing plants.

How do they sound ?:

Custom Vinyl Records Cut One At A Time No Minimums
I specialize in creating high-quality records, specifically 7" polycarbonate varieties. To achieve sound quality that rivals traditional lacquer dubplates, I develop unique sapphire embossing styli. My journey began in 1972 with Walter Gibbons, where I started cutting lacquers before polycarbonate discs existed, during that time, I was cutting lacquer acetate discs. Today, my records are done with my exclusive diamond stylus.
Although my cutting system operates in stereo, it's essential to note that these embossed polycarbonate discs must be recorded in mono to minimize playback tracking errors. However, if cut in stereo, they will still play back in mono. This highlights the differences when considering lathe cuts vs pressed vinyl.
